A beautiful Spring day with a light fresh breeze. Perfect for a bike ride with your mates.
There was a really good turnout for our free coffee and cake ride to the Flying Monk Brewery cafe. (I wonder why?!) Today we had 3 groups & routes. As if by magic we all met up in Hullavington minutes before arriving at the cafe. In reality, this is precision planning from our esteemed Ride Secretary.
It was great to see so many members riding and especially in our new club kit.
I’ve now used all four of my club kit purchases. The short sleeve jersey, gilet, Roubaix long sleeve jacket and snood/multi-tube/neck warmer. In last weeks milder weather I went with the jersey and gilet. I like the fact that the short sleeve jersey has ‘long’ short sleeves (if you see what I mean!). It means there is plenty of overlap when using arm warmers and you don’t end up with a gap if the arm warmers slip an inch or two.
The gilet is very wind proof which is important. Personally, I slightly prefer gilets with rear pockets which ours doesn’t have, although there is a neat zip pocket on the rear right hand side to gain easy access to the jersey pockets without lifting the gilet up. Endura do have rear pocket gilet alternatives, but it costs a little extra. If enough members are interested we could always order this alternative in the future.
I really like the long sleeve Roubaix Jacket. It feels really snug when you put it on. Although both Andy and I believe its not a ‘middle of winter’ jacket. For example, despite the sun, yesterdays ride started in a feels like temperature of 5C. I wore a long sleeve base layer underneath the Roubaix (Endura’s as it happens) and needed the gilet over the jacket for the extra wind protection. I took the gilet off part way around the ride. The Roubaix Jacket pockets are really deep so you can store lots of stuff if needed.
I’ve not much to say about the snood/multi-tube/neck warmer except its very stretchy, is nice and long and has a great design. So on second thoughts there is quite a lot to say about it! We have 3 spare neck warmers. They are just £12. If you’d like one please get in touch.
We also have a medium and larger Roubaix Jacket spare and also a medium and large gilet too. The jacket is £69.60 and the gilet is £50.40.
I’ve also started a ‘Future orders’ list. So if you are keen to order more items and we don’t have spares we can add you to the list. There is no need to pay until just before we place a bulk order with Endura.
Roll on Summer!
